My Birthday Weekend

I had the BEST birthday weekend! David really worked hard on planning every single detail and really made it special for all of us.

Friday night, Chloe went to her first slumber party at her friend Carsen's house.
She was so excited and had so much fun playing with her friends, watching movies, eating popcorn and just staying at someone else's house! She's already asking when she can have a slumber party at our house!

Saturday morning, we picked Chloe up and headed to OKC.
Our first stop was the OKC Zoo. We've talked about going there for a while, but just haven't found the time.
I'm so glad David did all of the planning for me and I was just along for the ride!

After spending a few hours at the zoo, we headed to our hotel, that David picked out and booked all on his own! It was right downtown and just perfect for our stay!

We showered, changed clothes and walked down to the RiverWalk in Bricktown to find somewhere to have dinner. On our way, we passed these carriages and decided to take a ride around Bricktown! The kids loved it!

On our ride, we passed by one of the places that David and I went to on our very first date!

After dinner, we walked around a little bit and found an arcade that was perfect for the kids. Everything was just their size and on their ability level. It was the perfect cheap entertainment.

The next morning, we got up, ate breakfast, checked out and headed to the outlet mall for a little shopping. This was a treat for me because I know everyone else HATES shopping. So I REALLY appreciated David doing this part for me. We took the wagon and he just walked the kids around while I did my shopping and didn't complain one time, even though I know he really wanted to!

I took the next day, my actual birthday, off from work and it turned out to be a great Monday and the perfect ending to the long weekend! We dropped the kids off at school and then I took a class at the gym. Then we went shopping and went to lunch and then we came home and relaxed in the pool. I might have even fell asleep on my raft! It was amazing!

It was the best birthday. Not because of all of the things we did, which were great and I love having the memories, but because such an effort was made by David to make it special for me and that we did things that I always have to plan for us to do as a family. I can tell that he put so much thought into it to make it special for me and it really was just the best! Thank you David!

First Day of School 2016

The twins started Pre-K at their same school with a little transition last week and then their first real day was yesterday! They are so excited to be the big kids at the school this year!!

And of course Cooper had to have first day of school pictures too!

They had to show me their new cubbies in their new class!

Life Lately

Life lately has been full of summer activities!

There has been LOTS of swimming and playing in the backyard!

One Friday we ditched work and took the twins to Safari Joe's water park! Cooper just isn't big enough yet...but he will be next year!

We've also been staying up past our bedtime to night swim and look at the stars and constellations. Connor is obsessed with this app that lets you find the planets and tells you where all of the constellations are!

We sent the kids away for the evening and invited our friends over for a kid free party! It was much needed for everyone!!

We celebrated David turning 39!
The kids made Daddy very special birthday cards.

We've been watching the Olympics!

We play with superheros a lot and decided to have a Batman vs. Superman movie night!!

Our friends came over for a play date!

We took a surprise trip to the Kiddie Park. It's our annual tradition and Coop was big enough to ride the rides this year!

But mostly, we've been trying to soak up as much time together before school, soccer, dance, and all of the busy activities start in a few weeks!
