Where have I been lately?

I know that's the question you're all asking! Not a whole lot has been going on with us...I've just become obsessed with coming up with ideas to make our house exactly the way I want it. I've been preoccupied with trying to pick out the perfect paint colors to repaint almost the entire house. We've had 2 appointments with painters and we're trying to get the best quote and find someone we are happy with. I've found a passion for finding new blogs that are all about decorating, and interior style, and DIY projects.

And of course...

More boxes from Amazon! Ok, wait...let me back up a minute. Last Friday night, David and I went to Lowe's to get some paint to finally paint my thrift store buffet. And while we were waiting for some assistance, I was browsing through the interior design books and I was practically drooling. But I wasn't about to pay $20-$25 for a book when I wanted 5 of them! So I discovered a new app for my phone that I have determined is the best thing since chocolate chip cookies! So for all you iPhone users, get ready...because you are going to want this app! It's called ShopSavvy (I can't remember if it's free or not). With this app you can scan a bar code on anything at any store and it will find the best deal for that item online and at your local stores. Isn't that amazing! One book I scanned that was selling for $19.95 in Lowes popped up on Amazon for $.01 plus shipping! It was a used book, but it turns out a new one was on Amazon for $4.95 with free shipping! You can't beat that! So I went to town scanning everything in sight and went home and ordered 3 books and I'm on the hunt for more. So that explains my new Amazon boxes.

I also have another bar code scanner app that's called RedLaser, but I found that when I scanned a few books the scanner didn't recognize them but when I switched over and started using ShopSavvy, it did recognize every single one of them. It truly is a shoppers dream!

A few more money saving apps I'm into right now are... Groupon, LivingSocial, and Target. They all have really good daily deals.

Workin on my fitness...

Not alot to post about this week because I haven't really done anything except go to the gym. Yes, I'm back in the gym...finally! Well, I'd had enough of just sitting around and complaining about how I felt and I decided to do something about it. So I successfully went to the gym Tuesday, Wednesday, AND Thursday. That's 3 days in a row if you are counting!!! And I plan on taking a class there tomorrow morning, even though I can barely walk right now! I love taking classes...if I had the choice, classes would be my only exercise. But unfortunately, the classes at my gym aren't the greatest and I have to do my own work outs most of the time.

2/14/11:
Valentine's Day

I started out in a grumpy mood Valentine's Day...until David surprised me and showed up for lunch with flowers in hand. We had a delicious pizza at Hideaway and it was a wonderful mid-day surprise from my Valentine.

2/15/11:
I love Amazon...

I love when I see Amazon boxes on my door step. I'm so addicted Amazon...when I know I need (want) something, I search for it on Amazon first. How can you beat it? They usually have the lowest prices on everything and mostly free shipping. And if it doesn't work out, you just print off a shipping label and drop it off at UPS. And everything is usually shipped and at your door within 2-3 days.
So when the recent blizzards trapped us indoors for days, we quickly realized how badly we needed a snow shovel. David had spent hours trying to dig us out of the driveway with a regular shovel and got no where until our neighbor came over to help him with his snow shovel. We didn't even attempt to go to our local stores to search for one because of the news stories of people waiting in line for hours for a chance to get one of only a few that were shipped in. So where did I turn? AMAZON of course!
It arrived a few days late because of the second snow storm and we were already dug out by the time we got it. But we will be so prepared for the next one!

2/16/11:
Where I've spent my nights lately...

Not the best place in the world, but it works for my needs. David actually belongs to 2 gyms...don't ask...I'm not really sure why either...

Have a good weekend!

Snowed in again

2/6/2011:

The Super Bowl was on Sunday, and as you all know, the Packers won! This is Duke Wilson and he is obviously a Packers fan!

2/8/2011:

Preparing for the next snow storm.

2/9/2011:
Another snow day where we got to stay home from work!

2/10/11:
This was the temperature during my slippery drive into work this morning. I thought it was pretty impressive until I heard other parts of the state were at -27!

More?!?!?!

Ok, so after being snowed in since Monday night, and 21 inches of snow later...I'm back to work today. But my car is still stuck in the garage so David is driving me around and delivering me where I need to be. I wish I could have stayed home, but after already missing 3 work days during our busiest time of the month, I had to catch up.
And after all we've been through this week...it's snowing again...right now! And more snow is coming Sunday and possibly more next Wednesday! I'm over it already!
I've missed doctor appointments, sales at both JCPenny's and Kohl's, my favorite restaurants are closed down, and I've run out cookies and other groceries! I can't receive my mail and most importantly my packages from online shopping! Peanut doesn't want to go outside to use the potty, and Brutus is getting cabin fever! This isn't fun anymore!

At least I've kept up with my Project 365:
1/31/11

This is David preparing for the cold by added more weather stripping to the front door...with Brutus' help of course.

2/1/11

The snow.

2/2/11

When I ran out of cookies, we made Snow Ice Cream!

2/3/11

Peanut snoozing on my lap. He's such a cuddle bug...and btw...Brutus is catching on to this and trying to do the same thing. Brutus will sit at the edge of the couch and stare at me for a while and then all of a sudden he jumps up on the couch and tries to sit on my lap like Peanut does. Neither one of them are allowed on the furniture, but I usually let Peanut sit with me if he's laying on a blanket. And of course, I have to let Brutus sit up there for a little bit too. I can't play favorites!

2/4/11 This was downtown this morning when David brought me in to work. The streets of downtown were worse than any other part we had to drive through. They can't just plow the streets because the snow would get pushed up on the sidewalks so they have to haul it out and from what I hear there is no where to haul it. We saw 4 cars and 1 bus get stuck while we were driving to my building downtown. There is NO WAY my car would have made it!

Snow Day #2

Well, we're on Day #2 of being snowed in. The bright side of all of this is that we've had 2 free days off of work because the offices are closed. The bad thing is that everything is closed and we can't get out and do anything.

We did get outside this morning, and with the help of a neighbor, dug a path in the driveway for the truck to get out because more than likely we will have to go back to work tomorrow.

Here's a mini shoot I had with the dogs this morning.
