Chloe had an appointment with a pediatric eye doctor today.
At her 2 month check up, our pediatrician was a little concerned that she was still looking up at the ceiling more than she was looking at people or objects so he suggested that we get her eyes checked. But a few days after that appointment, Chloe started looking at us more and that's when she started smiling. The problem was just with her being premature and her brain not registering what she was seeing yet.
But her exam went great today and she can see just fine! Hopefully this will be a trend and she won't end up with my poor vision!
The babies turned 9 weeks old yesterday and to celebrate...Momma put her pre-pregnancy jeans on!
I'm very proud to say that in 9 weeks, I've lost the almost 70 pounds I gained while I was pregnant and I'm just 2 pounds shy of what I was the day I found out I was pregnant!
I credit the entire weight loss to breast feeding 2 babies. I haven't done a thing except take a few walks down the street and back. I'm in no way bragging, it just amazes me that this actually happened. And I want to mention that I was 30 pounds lighter the day I came home from the hospital, just from the babies and all of the fluid. I had TONS of fluid! And I'm not at all ready to jump into a bikini, but if I was forced to, I would be a little proud considering this is what I looked like 10 weeks ago...
I would be more embarrassed by how top heavy I am rather than my little bit of tummy I have left over!
I can't believe how much you've changed in the last month! Even just in the last week!
You now look at us instead of off into space all the time, and if we're lucky, you give us a big smile. So we're constantly talking in a really high pitched voice and making funny faces to get you to smile.
You're both on a new feeding and sleeping schedule this week and its really helped get my sanity back! You're pretty close to sleeping through the night and it's working out great. Mommy is VERY thankful that we're getting close!
You both love to eat!
You usually take turns being fussy and are rarely fussy at the same time, unless it's feeding time and mommy is taking too long!
You are sleeping in your own cribs in the nursery (because Chloe starting kicking Connor when she got fussy) and most of the time you can both sleep through each other's screaming fits.
You're favorite toy is still the bouncer...and mommy really wished they bounced themselves!
You both do really well in the car, unless we stop moving. The same goes for the stroller. We have to keep it moving!
At your 2 month check up, you weighed 10 pounds and were 22.5 inches long.
You've grown out of the newborn clothes and are now in 0-3 months.
You're still my sensitive baby that loves to cuddle and be held. You love bath time and getting your hair washed and you love to hold your head up and look at everything.
At your 2 month check up, you weighed 8 pounds and were 21 inches long.
You finally fit into newborn clothes like you're supposed to.
You're miss independent and you let us know when we're doing something you don't like. You are starting to smile all the time and you look at me and listen when I talk to you.
I recently realized, after looking through pictures on my camera, that I never really did an official post about the day we brought Chloe home. I was probably a little busy and overwhelmed with 2 babies at home!
But first I wanted to share some pictures of her during her stay before we brought her home.
This was her name tag on the outside of her isolate that the nurses made for her.
She loves having her hands up at her face. She even ripped her feeding tube out a few times. She was ready to get out of there!
It was so hard to just get to spend a few minutes holding her before we would have to put her back so she would rest up for the next feeding.
Then the day finally came...we got to take her home! This was her when we walked in to get her... She was so ready!
This was her board we checked every day for her progress. She weighed 5 pounds the day we brought her home!
This was Chloe's nurse Katie. She was working the day the twins were born and helped David with everything that first day. And she was there the day Chloe went home.
All packed up and ready to go!
Getting to leave the hospital with BOTH babies!
They both slept through the whole reunion.
After some cuddle time with brother, she had her first bath at home.
Today it seems like this all happened years ago! It's crazy how much our lives have changed in just 7 weeks, but at the same time, it feels like they've been mine forever.
We love you Chloe Brynn and we're so happy you're home :)
