17 Months!

C&C turned 17 months on Wednesday. I can't believe how fast time is flying now. I feel like we are so busy with just day to day things.
So, finding time to take their picture for this post was a challenge.

We've had a lot of sickness between these 2 lately. It all started with Chloe getting Strep (for the 2nd time this year). Then, a few days later, I had to take her back to the doctor because she never really broke her fever and she was coughing a lot and just wanted to lay around. It had turned into a respiratory infection (I later found out that the doctor thought it might be pneumonia). A few days after that, Connor got sent home from school with a fever that turned out to be a virus (we think). So he was home from school for a few days. We thought he was better, no more fever but still on antibiotics, but then got another call from school that he had a fever again. That lasted for a few days and I think we are all finally better. All except David who is now sick with allergies.

So when I finally did find time to take their pictures, they were too excited to just be outside and I couldn't get them to sit still next to each other for very long!
So this is what I ended up with:

Connor:
I looked back at last month's post before I wrote this one and not much has changed with Connor.
He is just typical ALL boy!
He loves cars, trucks, trains, airplanes, and animals. So he was in heaven when we rode the train at the zoo!
He loves pointing out "ducks" (every bird he sees).
He has been very cuddly lately since he's been sick.
He has started sharing a little more with Chloe and actually taking toys to her to play with.
He loves Mickey Mouse and can say "Mickey" now.  He also tries to say "Hot Dog!"
He waves "Hello" to every passing car and if it's a truck he says "truck!" instead.
This is him waving at a car that drove by.
I love this sweet little face.
He got his tan on our vacation and his hair has turned lighter. He definitely is my little summer surfer baby.

Chloe:
She is a mess! That's all I have to say.
She is funny and very sweet.
She is turning into a little momma. She has become attached to one of her baby dolls and she tries to give it her binkie and something to drink from her sippy cups and even wipes her butt with a wipe. Earlier this week when I had to pick them up from school early because Connor was sick, she walked over to him laying on the floor and patted his back like she was saying "it's going to be ok bubba". And the teachers said that she had been doing it all morning. She was trying to take car of her brother!

That's the only major change I have noticed with her this past month. She still likes the same toys, with the exception of her baby.
She talks a little bit more than Connor does and says a few more words but I have read that it's normal for girls to talk a lot first.
She is pretty animated about things. I sometimes tell her that she is being a little dramatic and she just smiles at me. Just this morning, she was starting to whine about me not holding her because I needed to go get Connor out of bed and I asked her if she was dramatic and she nodded her head yes! She nods "yes" to most things but she does know what "no" means because if she doesn't want to do something she says "No!"

Father's Day 2013

We celebrated Father's Day all weekend by going to the Zoo on Saturday, out to eat, then swimming and playing outside on Sunday. Connor & Chloe LOVE the zoo. They love animals and just being outside. We rode the train for the first time on this trip and they smiled the whole time!

It was so hot and humid with no breeze!  We were all red faced and sweaty!

I think the carousel is their favorite part.

Connor was waving and saying "Hi!" to people standing behind me like he was the Zoo greater or something!

Vacation Part 7 - Florida Day 6

Finally! My last post about our vacation!
We took it really easy on our last day. We went to the beach in the morning and then napped and started picking stuff up and packing in the afternoon. We ate at the house and ended up watching the bad weather going on at home in Oklahoma on our ipad.

I think this might have been my favorite day. I think it was because I knew it was our last day and I was just trying to take it all in and enjoy it. And, both kids seemed to be in really good moods and enjoyed playing in the sand.

Connor especially was in a good mood. He loved being at the beach that day and even got brave enough to walk around in the sand and water on his own.

Chloe was a busy body, as usual.  She had things to do and is so good at entertaining herself.  She loved watching the big kids play in the water and was little miss social by wandering off to go visit with some bigger girls that were sitting close to us.

We loved the beach and can't wait to go back!  (When we're out of diapers!)

Vacation Part 6 - Florida Day 5

Each day, we got a little more relaxed. We didn't really have any plans, just did what we felt like and that was either go to the beach or the pool or take a walk or go out for lunch. On day 5, we went to the pool in the morning, then went out to lunch, came home for a nap and then went in to the little town to walk around and eat dinner and ice cream.

Vacation Part 5 - Florida Day 4

We spent the 4th day in Florida at the beach. Both kids enjoyed playing in the sand. It was still a little windy so the tide was high and it was hard to stand in the water. They liked watching the waves but not being in the waves.

Connor waving "hi".

Pointing to the "ducks".

Chloe and Papaw

Chloe was very busy in the sand and she didn't like it Connor messed her up or took one of her tools.

Snack break in the shade.

Holding hands.

Vacation Part 4 - Florida Day 3

On the 3rd day of our vacation, we had plans to go ride on a large jet boat in Destin. We were supposed to take a cruise out in the ocean and see some dolphins. But it was really windy that day, so we didn't get to venture very far out. We did get to see dolphins though. They came up right next to our boat!

Before we went in to Destin, David and I took the kids on a walk before their nap.

These cheap umbrella strollers were life savers and so much easier to pack than a big double stroller!

Connor loves all things cars, trucks, trains and boats, so I knew he would love this.

Chloe did okay once the boat was moving. I think she was tired and just didn't really care. She wanted to run around and not sit in my lap.

We were all looking at the dolphins and C&C kept pointing out all of the other boats. We would point and say "fish!" (that's easier to explain than dolphins right now), and they would point and say "boat!", or they would point at the seagulls and say "duck!"

Connor was waving to the other boats.
