One Month

The babies are one month old today. And I had this plan of buying these monthly stickers and taking their pictures every month to show their growth and how they change.
Well, I got the stickers but my photography skills are gone! Not that they were that great to begin with, but I've forgotten everything! I have no idea how to use my Nikon and I have lost everything I learned in that photography class I took a long time ago. The whole point of getting the camera was to learn how to use it so I would be able to take great pictures of my kids when I finally had them...but sadly, that's not happening right now.

And I learned it's a little hard to pose one month old babies! So trying to figure out my settings on my camera to get that great shot was out of the question. So this is what I ended up with...

At one month old, Connor is my cuddler. If he sits too long by himself he starts to cry and immediately stops when we pick him up. He falls into a milk coma after feedings and falls asleep with a smile on his face.
Chloe is miss independent, most of the time. She can sit by herself and be entertained just by looking around. But sometimes she just wants to be held too, and other times she just doesn't know what she wants.

I'm breastfeeding both at the same time with the help of my "Breast Friend" (it's really funny to see me get prepared for the feedings with this big pillow that wraps around me, but it's so convenient and perfect for feeding twins).
We're feeding on a schedule about every 3 hours and we're working on our night time schedule. I'm usually doing nights by myself (unless my mom is here), to let David get plenty of sleep since he has to go to work. It takes about an hour to an hour and a half to get the babies up, change both diapers, get my pillow set up, feed, burp, and get them back to sleep. Then I get about and hour and a half to 2 hours of sleep in between, if I'm lucky and they don't start fussing in between feedings.

During the day, my main goal is to try to get them to nap at the same time so I can either get stuff done around the house or take a nap too. But they like to play this game where one will sleep while the other one is wide awake and wants to be held and when I get that one to sleep, the other one wakes up wanting to be held. We go back and forth like this for a while until they both eventually give in and fall asleep and then it seems like it's time for them to get up anyway to eat!

I know this is all temporary and they will start sleeping longer in a few weeks. but for now, I survive on little sleep :)
