Is it Spring yet?

We've had such good weather the last couple of days and we've been taking full advantage of every second of it!

Monday, we played in the backyard.

Tuesday, we went for a bike ride.
The kids got bikes for their birthday and are still trying to figure them out. I'm still having to push them to get them started but they're getting better. I'm a nervous wreck when we're going down the street and so many cars are passing us on their way home!  Connor likes to ride in the middle of the street and Chloe doesn't watch where she's going.

We're ready for Spring and to be outside every day!

Dance

Chloe started an Intro to Dance class on Monday night.
She wanted to take dance with her friend Betsey but she signed up back in September and I really didn't feel like Chloe was ready then. I wanted her to be fully out of diapers and a little bit older. So my plan was to sign her up when she turned 3.
Well, Betsey's class is full so we had to go to a different studio and Chloe didn't really understand that part on Monday night. She kept saying "I guess Betsey's not here tonight."  It was so sad.
I was a little nervous when we were the only ones there at first, but eventually, another little girl (named Chloe) came in. The teacher said there are 3 more in the class but she wasn't sure why they weren't there. Again, still a little nervous when there is only one other little girl there! But it worked out because Chloe got a little more special attention for her first time there.
The teacher said she did really good for her first time. She did lose focus a lot and had a hard time staying on her marker on the floor, but I'm sure that's something that will just happen with time. It's a little later at night than I would like so Chloe does get a little tired at the end and she's ready to go. But again, I think that's something she will get used to.

And if she doesn't like it, then we'll stop. I think she's still too young to fully get into something like this so it's just for fun for us and something she can do on her own without Connor there. And if she does like it, we'll figure out how we can get into Betsey's class at next enrollment.  I do think she would enjoy it more with someone she knows.

3 Year Check Up

Connor and Chloe had their 3 year well visit yesterday.

Connor:
33 Pounds (71st %tile)
39 inches (94th %tile)
14.85 BMI (13th %tile)

Chloe:
28 Pounds (26th %tile)
37 inches (39th %tile)
14.03 BMI (5th %tile)

Connor was scared to get on the table because the last time we were there he got a flu shot. The nurse told him to get on the table and he pulled at my arm and said really quietly "Mommy, I don't want to get on the table." We tried to reassure him there would be no shots but he didn't fully trust us until it was completely over.

Our Weekend

Crawling just isn't enough for this big boy...
After only 6 days of his new independence, he thinks he needs to pull up on everything and prefers to be standing up now.
He was even doing it at nap time, so it was time to lower the mattress.
Connor and Chloe aren't too excited about Cooper being on the move.  He is quick to crawl to wherever they are and I think he's pestering them a little bit.  Connor has more of a tolerance for it but Chloe asked me to put Cooper night night at one point so he wouldn't bother her while she played on the ipad.

Chloe and I had some one on one girl time Friday night when I straightened her hair for the first time after her bath.
She first said she looked like Harper, her friend at school that has straight hair about the same color as Chloe's and then she kept saying she looked like Rapunzel. Then she said she wanted to show Cameron (her boyfriend at school that I just found out about that day).
It made for a super cute pony tail on Saturday morning and it made me wish she had straight hair all the time, but I'm not signing up for an extra chore of straightening her hair every day!
She looked like such a big girl!

We did some coloring and played inside in the morning.

And then played outside in the afternoon.

We're ready for spring!

Crawling

Cooper didn't get to work on his crawling a lot while we were gone on vacation.  He was stuck with us holding him or in a stroller most of the time.  So the minute we got home and set him down in the living room, he just took off crawling!  It was like he was saying "finally someone put me down! I'm ready to go!"

And he's been on the go ever since.  I forgot how quickly they can move when they finally figure it out and he's into everything.  We have to make sure all of Connor and Chloe's little toys are picked up and out of reach.  That's something I didn't have to worry about when the twins were starting to crawl.  We also gated the whole living room up with the twins and I really don't want to do that this time around.

More Birthday Celebrations

We had a small birthday party on Sunday with just family. And for the 3rd year in a row, we had amazing weather!

I let Connor and Chloe pick their own themes this year and of course it was Spiderman and Frozen.

They finally got to play outside with their trucks.

And after everyone left, I had David take my annual pictures with the birthday boy and girl...

Connor 2013

Chloe 2013

Connor 2014

Chloe 2014

Connor 2015

Chloe 2015

Monday was their actual birthday, so we took them for donuts before school.

They celebrated at school with cookies. And since the weather was so nice, we played outside when we got home.
We had spaghetti for dinner and Connor told me that spaghetti is his favorite.

This morning they asked if it was still their birthday. I told them that 5 days of celebrating was plenty.

Great Wolf Lodge

We decided to take the kids to Great Wolf Lodge in Dallas for their birthday this year instead of having a big birthday party.

We drove down Thursday morning and got there around 1:30.
We dropped our stuff off in our room and changed into our swimsuits.
This is Chloe's bear that she had to stop and take a picture with every time we passed. She would hug it and sit on it's lap.
Since Chloe had the bear, Connor decided the wolf was his.
The indoor water park was huge and the kids could do almost everything. They just couldn't go down the big slides in the back.
Cooper did great. He didn't nap more than 15 minutes at a time that whole day because he didn't want to miss anything. He was stuck in his stroller for a lot of the time, or I held him, or David held him. He did get the water a few times but I didn't want him getting too cold so we kind of just hung out at our table and watched the big kids play.
Another stroller picture of Cooper. He really is this happy all the time.
We got a pizza and took it back to our room for dinner. After our baths, we put our jammies on and went down to the lobby for story time.
We had some time to kill so we went and got ice cream and of course we had to stop and take our picture with the bear.
This is what a long day with no nap looks like.
We took pictures before the story started.
We went back to the room after the story and got ready for bed. Everyone was so tired. Chloe had a huge meltdown and I can't even remember what it was about but she was screaming. And Cooper was so tired that all he wanted to do was to lay down and be left alone and cry himself to sleep so we just laid him on the bed and he cried while Chloe screamed and Connor just laughed. It was an intense 5 minutes. I'm sure our neighbors loved us. We didn't even realize when it was over. I was brushing my teeth and looked over to find this...
The next morning, we took our time getting around and went to the buffet for breakfast. After breakfast, we got our swimsuits on and headed back down to the water park.
And another bear picture...
And wolf...
After lunch, we went back to the room for a little nap and then went down and played some more until it was time for bed. It started getting super crowded that evening so I'm glad it was our last day.

The next morning, we got up and loaded the car and headed out. On our way out the door, Chloe got upset that she didn't tell her bear bye.

We went down the road to the aquarium at the Grapevine Mills mall. The kids loved it. Chloe followed along with everything in her book and tried to find what was on the pages. Connor was a little grumpy. I think he mainly was just over all the pictures.
After the aquarium we rode the carousel.
And then a little train that went around the mall.
Connor actually asked me to take his picture in front of the train. And when I told Chloe to go stand with him she refused. But after I started snapping, she decided she wanted to be in the picture, she just didn't want to turn around.
We ate lunch at Rainforest Café before we headed home.
I think the kids had a lot of fun and we plan on going back and doing it all again sometime!
