31 week Dr. Appointment

Yesterday was our 31 week check up and ultrasound. I also had an appointment to do all of my pre-admission paperwork at the hospital.
The ultrasound was first, and the first thing out of the tech's mouth was "Oh! He has tons of hair!" We got really excited about that!
But then she moved on to start measuring baby girl and was going to come back to him later (she said since he probably always gets measured first because he's Baby A).
She also has hair!

Not as much as her brother, but there is some fuzz there!
She is measuring right on track at 31 weeks and she weighs about 3 1/2 pounds. That puts her in the 28th percentile, but she is still in the "normal" range.

He's a completely different story!
He's measuring around the 33 week mark and weighs about 4 1/2 pounds!!! That puts him about 89th percentile, but still in the "normal" range? That's a big "normal" range, but the doctor spoke with the specialist about it today and they don't seem concerned about either one of them because they are growing like they are supposed to and practicing their breathing and moving around normally.

You can see his chubby cheeks in this picture. His face was so chubby that he even has rolls and wrinkles around his eyes! And he has a big belly!

Hearing all of this news about how big he is and how far I still have to go, got me very nervous. I'm guessing that I'm not going to make it to that scheduled c-section date of February 2nd. I think they'll come in about 3-5 weeks from now, which is crazy to me!
I have a chalkboard on my pantry door that I have been using as a countdown for how far along I am and how many weeks we have left.
This is what the chalkboard looked like yesterday:

And this is what it looked like this morning.

I didn't feel right just putting "7 weeks to go" because I know that's not true! So I went with the range...

As crazy as it sounds to be talking about them coming about any time now, I'm ready and my body is ready. I've had big changes over the last week and it feels like my body is starting to prepare.
One major change is the swelling that's going on below my knees!
Introducing my Fred Flintstone feet:

My feet are so swollen that they only fit into one pair of shoes that I have, some comfy fur lined flat boots that look like Uggs that I got from Old Navy a few weeks ago. I'm so thankful for those boots, but very sad that I'm getting limited on clothes and now shoes.
My feet are also in pain ALL the time. But that just means I get to sit down more and rest more, so I can't complain too much.

No rest yet!

So after the shower last weekend, I told myself and everyone else that it was time for me to rest for the remainder of my pregnancy. I'm now 30 weeks and I tend to over do it almost every day, just doing my normal daily activities. I didn't realize how hard it would be to have to slow down. It just seems like there is so much going on this time of year and I'm trying to get everything ready for the babies and I'm trying to keep up with all of the normal house work and laundry. I need to have everything put up in it's place and organized before they get here because I'm worried that they will be here any time now. And there is TONS of stuff to put up for 2 babies!
This weekend was no different...no slowing down for me yet. We had a full weekend booked up with obligations we couldn't get out of. But I SWEAR I'm slowing down starting today! So if I turn anyone down when they invite me or David and I to do something, please don't get your feelings hurt. I have to do this so these babies stay in as long as possible!

We had a childbirth class at the hospital on Saturday. Not much to really report about it except David was called up to the front as a volunteer and of course I had to take pictures!

He was supposed to be me at the hospital before the babies are born. The instructor was demonstrating how the epidural is given and what monitors are hooked up to mommy and babies. And of course he had to sport 2 babies.

And then that night we went to dinner to celebrate a friends birthday. Here we are...pregnancy face and all!

As embarrassing as it is to post pictures of myself when I'm at my largest I've ever been, I want the babies to be able to look back at everything they got to go do while I was pregnant with them. I'm sure they really care that I went out to eat, but whatever! You know what I mean!

Christmas Cards

We haven't done a Christmas card in years. The Holidays have been pretty painful the last couple of years, but it's finally gotten better this year. Even though I've been more focused on trying to get everything ready for the babies because they can come at any time now, I'm at least not dreading Christmas this year like I have in the past.
And since we had just had our picture taken for my maternity pics, it was the perfect opportunity to send out a Christmas card.
We sent out 2 different cards because I ordered one from our photographer, but then realized I wasn't going to have enough so I quickly ordered cheaper ones from MPix.
These are the 2 cards from this year:
This one was from CC Miller Photography.

And this is the one that I designed and ordered from MPix.com

I think it's going to be neat to look back at these next year when we're getting ready to send out our Christmas cards with the twins on them.
