A quick trip to the lake

This past Saturday, we took a quick day trip down to Eufaula to see my parents for Father's Day.
We took the dogs with us, but only Brutus went out on the boat with us. This was his first time on the boat and I wasn't sure what to expect. This is what I think Brutus' emotions were throughout the day...excited, scared, curious, scared again, confused, excited, tired, scared again, curious, excited, tired, tired, tired, exhausted. Yep, that's pretty much how it went.

He was most scared of the motor on the back of the boat. He just couldn't figure it out.

This was one of his favorite spots. He liked looking out at the water.

The rest of the day was spent getting in and out of the water and napping.

It's hard to tell if he enjoyed it or not, but I do think it was too hot for him on this day. It's hard for him to breathe when he's hot and he just looked uncomfortable all day. He wasn't sure what he was supposed to be doing, but then the next minute he would be wagging his tail and was excited to get to play with all of the other dogs on the beach.

I'm sad that of all the pictures I took of him I didn't get one single picture of him in his life jacket! It was too hot for him to wear it around everywhere, but he was so cute in it!
