35 Weeks!

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 35 Weeks

Size of babies: 18.2 inches long

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained 59.6 lbs

Maternity Clothes: Full time sweatpants and pjs now since I'm not working.

Gender: A boy and a girl :)

Movement: Yes, a lot lately. And Baby Boy is head down, like he has been the whole time, and his head is inching more and more into my cervix and it's pretty painful when he feels like he need to readjust his head placement. It feels like fingernails trying to scrape his way out.

Sleep: Sleeping a little bit better. I finally figured out how to get comfortable but I usually only sleep about 2 hours at a time and then I have to get up to pee and I can't get back to sleep. But I nap pretty good.

What I miss: Just simple everyday things like putting my socks on. I can't really reach my feet anymore and everything takes so long to do.

Cravings: Nothing specific, but my hunger is picking up and I feel like I'm starving all the time.

Symptoms: Swelling, heartburn, swelling, hunger, and more swelling

Best Moment this week: Getting to see how big the babies are and finally getting her to look at us while we had an ultrasound for the first time since the first measurement.

Only one week left people!!!

Just a practice run...

We went in for a normal ultrasound and doctor's appointment this afternoon and ended up being admitted to the hospital!

Long story short...my blood pressure was higher than it has been the last couple of times we've been in and after it still didn't go down after a second check, the doctor wanted to admit me to monitor my blood pressure over a few hours.

Blood work was done to check for preeclampsia and it came back fine. I was checked and I'm dilated to a little over a one. The babies heart rates were monitored and when all of my blood pressure checks came back normal, the on call doctor released me to go home.

During the the stay at the hospital, I went back and forth on what I wanted to happen. I'm so ready for these babies to be here and I seem to get more and more miserable everyday, but when it was actually possible that they might be coming today, unexpected, I got a little nervous.

So hopefully we can all stick to the plan and just have the c-section next Friday when I'm more prepared. Who am I kidding, I still won't be prepared!

Today's Growth Measurements

We had our last growth measurements done today at the hospital. The tech told us they aren't 100% accurate but she measured everything twice to try to get as close as possible. And the results are...baby girl is weighing in at about 5 pounds and baby boy is weighing in at about 6 1/2 pounds! He weighs more than I did when I was born! And , according to the tech, he for sure has more hair than her.
She still has hair but he must have a lot more. So I'm convinced he is going to come out looking like David and she is going to look like me.All of their other measurements are still going good as well including them breathing. This all makes me really hopeful that they won't have to go to the NICU at all when they're born next week unless there is something else wrong that we don't know about.
We also finally got a good look at her face. When the tech started with him she made a comment about how it's going to be a little difficult getting all of his measurements because of how low his head it (he's so low that I'm surprised he isn't falling out!) and I told her to just wait because she has always been more difficult because of her facing my spine and how she never rolls over, etc. Well she proved me wrong. She was even looking right at us most of the time. But all the tech got a picture of was her profile, which is the most we've gotten since her first growth scan.

So with my enzyme levels getting lower and the itching getting better, their sizes, and them practicing their breathing, I feel really good about them coming next week. I can hardly wait to finally meet them even more now.
