Best Buds

We had SUCH a good long weekend! Again, more of a lot of nothing and busy at the same time! One day I'll figure out how that happens!

C&C had their 15 month check up on Thursday.

Big kids in the waiting room (watching cartoons of course).
Looking at the fish in the waiting room.

I snapped this of them before their shots.  I HATE it when they have shots, especially if I'm there by myself!  They are both screaming in pain and I can't console both of them at the same time so a nurse has to hold one of them until they calm down enough for me to dress them.  It's horrible!
They were troopers though.
I don't have all of their measurements and %tiles but I do know that Connor weighs 27 pounds and Chloe weighs 21 pounds.

David and I took the day off and went shopping on Friday and bought the kids a few things. We got Chloe a Sofia the First doll because it's her favorite show and we got Connor Mickey Mouse bath toys. Here is a blurry picture of Chloe carrying her Sofia. She loves her!

Gigi went to swimming lessons with us because David was out of town for the day and I didn't want to miss because we missed last week because I was sick.  They still love it and are getting more brave!

At their check up, I found out that Chloe has an ear infection.  She has been handling it pretty well except for nap time on Saturday.  She just wanted to cuddle, so I didn't argue with her.

Since David was gone on Saturday, it was just me and the kids.  I usually have mixed emotions about days like this.  I get so excited that I get to spend the whole day with them but I also sometimes get anxiety about how much they are going to wear me out with tantrums and fighting or no naps, etc.  But this weekend was so much different.  I don't know if it's the new school, or that they are currently not teething too bad or what, but they were so much fun this weekend.  They played together so well for a change, almost like they are best buddies.  There were no fits or tantrums and very little fighting over toys, I mean, maybe like only 2 or 3 times total!

We had so much fun and they were full of giggles and hugs and kisses.

This is Connor giving Chloe a hug.  I'm trying to teach them to put their arms around each other for a hug but for now they just lean their heads on each other to give hugs.

Giving each other kisses.  This melts my heart every time.  By the way, I had to tell them to kiss 3 times to get this picture so it's the best I could do.  Again, I'm either too lazy or too busy to get my good camera out, so we're living with iPhone pictures lately!

It was so nice outside on Sunday!  We got outside and had our snack and went to the park with Gigi when David got home.

Date Night, Sickness, & Birthday Party Fun!

We had such a busy, fun, miserable weekend all in one!

Friday night, David and I went with some friends to a dinner for Project Hope. It was a good dinner and such a good cause, but throughout the night I could feel myself going down hill, fast. My throat was so sore that it felt like it was closing up and I was starting to get really achy and uncomfortable. So I left early to curl up in my bed.
By Saturday morning, I was convinced I had either Strep or the Flu or both! I had to force myself to get out of bed to go to Urgent Care to find out if I was contagious or not because I didn't want the babies to catch anything else. It turns out, it was just a really bad case of allergies. I mean, REALLY bad! I was knocked on my butt from this crap. I haven't been this sick in a long time.
I got a steroid shot and a prescription for cough medicine and was told to take some allergy medicine.
What's even worse is that Chloe is suffering pretty badly too. Her eyes are leaking yellow gunk constantly and she wakes up with them matted together. And we haven't even been outside that much!
And one day last week, I wasn't sure if Connor was sick or not but he was coughing constantly and it turned out to be allergies. I'm just ready for this weather to straighten out! It's so miserable!

I was in much better shape Sunday morning, just in time to go to our little friend Bobby's birthday party. It was at a place called Bounce U and I wasn't really sure what to expect when it came to C&C being able to participate. But again, I need to never under estimate what they can do!
They had such a good time!

My pictures suck! Again, it's hard to get them to stand still and look at the camera.

Connor taking off mid snap!
Refusing to look at me!
Chloe is a little bit better about it but lately her fingers are always in her mouth. I think she has more teeth coming in.

Bouncing and climbing.

She was mad that we stopped playing for a second to take a picture!

They did so good.  I feel like their new school has helped so much with them being more social instead of being scared of new people or just being stuck to our legs the whole time.  They ran around on their own the whole time.  Yes, they would look around for us but there were no fits or tears.

Speaking of their new school...when we give the kids a bath at night we ask them questions and sing songs and tell them to blow bubbles in the water and stuff like that.  Before they started the school, I had taught them where their noses and belly's were.  That's about as far as we got.  But last night, we started asked them where everything was...nose, eyes, mouth, head, hair, belly, feet, hands and we were shocked to realize that Connor knew all of them!  Chloe knows some of them but she mainly just watched Connor point them all out and she was too busy playing in the water.  She did know where Connor's butt was though, which is kind of funny that she knows that one!  And I have no idea what age kids start to learn what, but I was amazed by my little boy.

15 months!

Connor and Chloe are 15 months old today!

I attempted to do a photo shoot in the white chair like we used to. But it turned chaotic very quickly. They sat in the chair for about 3 seconds, then they wanted to climb down, or sit on the armrest, and then if they got down they wanted back up...you get the idea.

So this is what I ended up with...

Connor got down. And then back up.

Cracking themselves up. They think it's funny to act like maniacs when mom is trying to take pictures of them!

Showing me their teeth.
And...they're done.

Connor:
18-24 month clothes & size 5 X-W (that stands for extra wide!) shoes.

He loves trucks, especially his new Little Tikes Big Truck!
He points to everything.
He tries really hard to repeat words. He's working on saying "sister" right now and it's the cutest thing ever to see him try "s".
He says mama, dada, Bru (Brutus), Hello, Hey, Purple, Yellow, Red, Blue
Loves the Itsy Bitsy Spider song and does the motions to it.
He pretends to wash his hands when we sing "This is the way we wash our hands". He can also wash his belly and his hair upon request.
Loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and the Hot Dog dance.
Loves his blue blankie.
Loves snack time and apple juice.
Loves dogs and he stops what he is doing if he sees one on tv and just points to it.
Has to close everything, doors, cabinets, the dishwasher, etc.
I think he has 9 teeth. He has 8 up front and I think there is one big one in the back.
Loves to blow bubbles in the bathtub and at swimming lessons.
If you ask him where something is, no matter what it is, he shrugs his shoulders and sticks his arms out like "I don't know where it is..."
He also loves to throw a fit!
Here, he is crying because I wouldn't let him pull the nightstand over on top of him.
Don't you feel sorry for him?
I'm such a mean mommy!

Chloe:
She wears 12-18 month clothes and a size 4 shoe.
She has such a funny personality. She's showing me her teeth here of course. Always showing her teeth.

Loves her new Little Tikes Princess car.
Loves snacks and will stuff as many as she can in her mouth all at once.
Hates bows and headbands. We're going to have to work on this problem.
LOVES tv. Her favorites are Bubble Guppies, Sofia the First, and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
She's very helpful. If someone leaves their shoes out, she will pick them up and bring them to us.
She claps her hands, stomps her feet, and says "Hooray!" when we sing "If you're happy and you know it..."
Says mama, dada, bubba, whoa, purple, blue, Hi.
If I say "One, two..." She will yell "THREE!"  And then crack up laughing.
Waves bye bye to everyone and blows kisses.
She can play on the slide outside by herself.
Loves to give hugs and kisses,
But then she will roll her eyes right after doing it!
She can give some funny faces!

Here she is clapping her hands while I sang "If you're happy and you know it..."
"Then your face will surely show it..."

They both love shoes, bath time, and swimming lessons.
They are both really good about going to bed at bedtime and they are ready when it's time.  Our routine is that we say it's time for bed and they start walking towards their room.  They stop at the kitchen for us to hand them a clean bink and off they go.
They are down to just one nap a day and I think they usually do pretty good with it, most days.

Family Date Night

We were VERY active this weekend! Not really doing a whole lot but staying busy the whole time! I'm not really sure how that happens, but it does with 2 busy toddlers. It was also very nice outside most of the weekend so we wanted to get out and enjoy it. First up, we sat outside after we got home from work/school to have a little snack and watch all the cars coming home.

Saturday morning, we had a blast at swimming lessons. I don't have any pictures but they really enjoyed it. They love splashing and swimming and falling into the water with us holding them. They're getting very brave. After swimming lessons, they played for a little bit and then took a 3 hour nap!
After their nap, we played outside and then got dressed to go out to eat at Chick-fil-a. So fancy, I know! But it's perfect for kids. Even though C&C aren't big enough to play in the play area, they still like to see all of the other kids running around the whole time. Also, it's probably the most kid friendly place. They always have plenty of high chairs available, they have good kids meals and also have kids snacks, like little things of Cheerios. And they have the plastic placemats that stick to the tables that I usually buy and bring everywhere we eat anyway.

We also met the Chick-Fil-A cow. Connor has a thing for cows and can say "Mooooo" when we ask him what a cow says. So he spotted the cow across the restuarant and started pointing. He's really big into pointing right now.

After we ate, we went to have some frozen yogurt. They loved pushing around all of the furniture. I think David got a little embarrassed but for once I didn't. It's a frozen yogurt place that's filled with kids and I didn't think it was a big deal that my kids were running around enjoying themselves for a minute.
They loved these little red ball chairs but they were very unsturdy. They would fall over every time they tried to get up in them or down from them, which is all they wanted to do of course.

Sunday was full of playing in the play room in the morning, lunch, a short nap and then outside to play with their new Cozy Coupe princess car and truck.

They love to just sit in these cars which worked out great because it gave David and I a chance to get the garage cleaned out.
After that, we went out back to play on the slide. They're getting so much better at it but I still feel like I'm constantly running from one slide to the other making sure they don't fall off. By the way, I'm so happy we got one with 2 slides because all they want to do is climb up the slides and I think it would be a constant fight if there was only one.

They were so exhausted last night that they were in bed alseep by 6:45 and I had to wake them up this morning!
